Astro’s Playroom: All Special Bots Locations

Honestly, the biggest complaint I have with Astro’s Playroom is just that it’s too damn short. I finished all 16 of the main levels, the final area, and completed each of the speed run trials in around three hours. That’s not very much content — but I still have well over half of the game’s collectibles left to discover, which could easily double the amount of time spent if I wanted to go for the platinum. I used this example last time and I like to explain that with how precise the haptics are here I can actually tell the difference between when Astro walks on wood, metal, glass, and so on.

Whilst there are serious problems, I personally found these to have a workaround that made them doable. The core quest in Astro’s Playroom is to retrieve the four main artefacts across four different, diverse levels. Each level is split into four key areas, two of which are reliant on a feature of the DualSense, all are mandatory to complete the levels.

It is recommended to collect all Artifacts together with all Puzzle Pieces, so you don’t have to play the levels twice. If you missed something you can come back at any time via the level select on the map. Before you can start this path, travel to the opposite end of the beach from where the final starfish was and knock over a blue item to reveal a racing wheel. Continue the level as normal, until you reach a checkpoint after riding a cloud.

Similar feelings are conveyed when you walk on ice, have water droplets falling on you, and other things that I won’t spoil. These feelings that I got from this controller are hard to describe in text but when you actually feel it for yourself, you’ll see just how much of a game changer the DualSense controller can be. It really makes me hope that as many developers as possible use the feature set inside this controller in their games. Artifact 1/2 “Buzz Controller”– At the first hang glider section, you need to try and reach the upper platform to the left of the platform you’re aiming for. If you miss and trigger the checkpoint on the lower platform you’ll need to restart the level to try again, if you don’t trigger it you can just jump off the side.

It’s a very easy list and you’ll have a lot of fun obtaining this Platinum. Several silver trophies are tied to collecting specific items like puzzle pieces and artifacts. For instance‚ finding all artifacts in a world or solving a puzzle unlocks these trophies. These collectibles are hidden across levels‚ requiring exploration and attention to detail.

While it isn’t a traditional open-world title, all four maps are interconnected, akin to Bloodborne, and players can return to a central hub called CPU Plaza to access other worlds. The Access Controller is the first PlayStation controller designed to accommodate for the needs of various disabilities, allowing disabled gamers to play with greater ease. It includes multiple different stick caps, buttons with swappable tags, industry-standard AUX ports to connect other accessibility devices, and supports up to 30 different profiles. It can also be paired with a second Access Controller and a DualSense, which can all act as a single controller input. The follow-up to the original PS VR uses headset-mounted cameras rather than lights, and has a vibration motor. The interior display is four times the resolution of the original, and 3D audio adjusts with your head position.

Artifact 1/2 “PS One LCD Monitor” – Continue along that path to the end where the group of bots are and pull the wires on the ground to reveal this artifact. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Once in the main area where you are rolling around as a ball, this puzzle piece is underneath a bridge to the left. Puzzle Piece 2/4 – You will progress through a path of electrified mines to a checkpoint. From the checkpoint instead of continuing upwards, follow the path of coins down to the right to enter another asteroid with this puzzle piece inside. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – After landing from the above hang glider section, go to the back left of the platform and drop down to find a lower area with this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 3/4 – In the third hang glider section you will need to avoid a number of mines that appear in the air.

And that’s over typically the way it combines some audio Easter eggs into the particular world that happen to be perhaps best found out while playing. Fortunately, Astro’s Playroom has dynamic jumping, which means that holding down X will result in a much bigger jump than just tapping X. Something that interested individuals should keep in mind if they are struggling with the bigger gaps that can be found in the game. Besides this, it is worth mentioning that such a jump can be combined with a Spin and a Beam Glide to create a huge amount of distance, thus opening up even more possibilities for the player. You can delete Astro’s Playroom once you’re done with it (and redownload at any time).

Once you finish all the levels at least once you’ll unlock a series of “speed run” levels that are variants off of the game’s main levels. I appreciated these because they weren’t just the same exact levels with a timer added, but instead offered totally new paths and obstacles through a stage that was merely themed after the existing level. You’ll recognize backgrounds and a few elements, but they may as well be new levels.
